Alternative 1st Quarter Project

For those of you that either do not want to do the political campaign project, or who are so lazy that you never bothered to even start thinking about doing it, here is your alternative. A reminder, this project counts as a major 1st quarter grade. Failure to complete one of the two project options will likely result in a failing grade for the 1st quarter.

1ST QUARTER PROJECT
COMPARITIVE ESSAY PAPER
Topic
*Your assignment is as follows; you will read, study, and analyze the Constitution of The United States of America, you will also read, study, and analyze the Constitution of any other country in the world, it’s your choice (as long as the country that you choose has a written constitution and complete sovereignty.)

*You will write a comparative essay in which you will summarize what is outlined in each constitution, and address the following questions:

-How are the two constitutions similar? How are they different?
-What is the goal of each constitution?
-Has the US Constitution influenced the constitution of the other country? Has the constitution of the other country influenced the US Constitution?
-Does the government of each country have a unitary, or federal system of government?
-What form of government does each constitution mandate, autocracy, oligarchy, or democracy?
-Does the constitution of the other country outline that country’s economic system? If so, what is it, capitalist, socialist, communist, or another form?
-Does the constitution of the other country list the basic rights given to each citizen? If so summarize these rights.
-Is the theory that is outlined in the constitution of the other country practiced in fact by that country’s government? If no, how is that country governed
-If you had to choose which constitution that you’d like to be governed by, which would it be and why?
